Valentine’s Day is here, and whether you’re madly in love, politely interested, proudly alone, or just here for the snacks, we respect you. (Though our chocolate absolutely crosses a line). Flowers are basically plant genitals, weaponized by humans for romance. Roses became the ultimate love symbol because ancient cultures tied them to blood, beauty, secrecy, and obsession… all very normal stuff. Red roses in particular scream “I have feelings and they are loud.” They wilt quickly, which is also kinda romantic if you think about how nothing lasts and we’re all just temporary space dust.
But here’s the pro tip: romance isn’t just roses.
